Update for the Paris Convention: Program, Statutes, Speakers

Dear members,
as the Convention in Paris is drawing closer (it’s this weekend already!), we would like to send you some of the proposals that have been made for the Program, Statutes and Board Candidates we will discuss and vote on in Paris. In addition, we have some more, exciting news to share with you…

1. What we’ll discuss in Paris

This weekend in Paris, the first truly pan-European Federalist Party will be born. But this is not just a historic moment, this is also something we worked a lot in the last months and weeks to prepare. Besides some high profile speakers (see below), we will vote on some of the basic documents and a new Board in Paris and we want to make this information available to you so you can also have a say on those things. Therefore, we kindly invite you to have a look at the following documents:

  1. The Statutes (or “Constitution”) of the new party: DOWNLOAD HERE
  2. The preliminary new program: DOWNLOAD HERE

Candidates for the Board will be Pietro de Matteis, Danny Lucas Niedziolka, Nico Segers, Yves Gernigon and Helene Feo.
The course of events for Saturday and Sunday will be: A full day of presentations and debates followed by a press conference is scheduled for Saturday November 5th. Several French and European newspapers and tv channels are expected to be there, so this promises to be of massive mediatic impact for our cause. The following day will be devoted to internal party affairs, including discussing and voting the charter, programme and board of the newly formed European Federalist Party. Please see a more detailed draft agenda.

If you plan to come to Paris, please register here. Please feel free to contact us should you need help finding accommodation.

2. More high profile speakers at the Paris Convention
I am happy to announce that we have been able to secure two more interesting key speakers and participants for the Convention: ex-MEP, federalist and ex-Italian Deputy Marco Pannella and the new President of the Young European Federalists (JEF) Europe, Pauline Gessant! Together with the other amazing speakers we already have, this will guarantee great, lively debates and input on Saturday afternonn. This is something you should not miss!

3. Be where it matters today

Even if you can’t make it to the Convention for financial reasons, please consider showing your support for a Federalist Europe by donating. Our organization is fully run by volunteers who are actively pushing for a mammoth-size project. It is no easy task and every little bit helps ensure our Party always has the financial as well as human resources necessary to succeed. If you wish to donate, you can do so easily and safely here.

Get involved now: come to the Convention, donate and ask us how to get involved in your own region! Never before has civil action mattered so much for the transformation of our continent – united we are certain to prevail.
